Claus Dieter Meyer, born in Bremen in 1946, FIDE Master (1983), is a well-known chess journalist and author. He played for the chess department of SV Werder Bremen and was their full-time chess trainer for many years.
Grandmaster Dr. Karsten Müller was born in Hamburg in 1970. He studied mathematics and received his doctorate in 2002. Karsten Müller has been playing for Hamburger SK in the Bundesliga since 1988 and won the Grandmaster title in 1998. The globally recognized endgame expert was named "Trainer of the Year" by the German Chess Federation in 2007.
