The focus of this English-language correspondence chess book is the World Champions Tournament, to which the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF) invited all living correspondence chess world champions in 2001. The participants were: Fritz Baumbach, Hans Berliner, Tönu Oim, Vytas Palciauskas, Horst Rittner, Grigori Sanakojew, Jörn Sloth, Gert Timmerman and Michail Umanski. All nine world champions contributed to the success of this book with game analyses. The work is rounded off with short biographies of the world champions who have already died and those who were only determined after 2001. A final chapter in German offers an entertaining cross-section of 50 years of correspondence chess.
