While the best US players are currently dueling at the Sinquefield Cup in St. Louis, the probably most famous US player, Hans Niemann, has made it to Croatia, where he is dueling with other players around 2600 in the Tournament of Peace. The tournament is taking place in Zagreb, Croatia and aims to continue the tradition of previous tournaments.
After a win in round 6 with the black pieces against the strong Bulgarian Ivan Cheparinov, Niemann leads the tournament with 5.5 points from 6 games.
This currently moves Niemann up 32 places in the world rankings and brings him back into the top 50.
